The word “boondocks” comes from the Tagalog “bundók”, which means mountains. It was assimilated into American English when invaders clashed with guerrilla fighters in the mountains of Luzon during the American war on the Philippines. The invaders construed the boondocks or the 'boonies' to mean wilderness – the rural, outlying or savage places.
Boondock Squad plays hip-hop and rock music for the people of the boondocks – the masses of outliers whose truths have been waiting to be heard.
We are comprised of jxtheo on the vocals, Mhyck on the guitar, Judybelle on the bass and JSE on the drums.
